Daisy Scouts go horseback riding

Today the Daisy scouts went horseback riding! The girls had a ball. First the girls learned all about horses, saddles, and what to call different parts of a horse and his hooves. Then we got to go outside and take turns riding a horse.

After that the girls all heard a story about Daisy Scout founder, Juliette Low, because her birthday is this weekend. We learned how she founded the Daisy Scouts and why and then we made a necklace to represent who she was and what kinds of things the first Daisy Scouts did. Very educational and fun afternoon!

Riding a horse is an exercise that requires a certain art if one is to do it successfully and with grace. To canter, or lope, a horse takes a high skill level and a strong sense of physical co-ordination in order to perform it correctly.
